Role of Members and Affiliates

Institutional Members

Strategy as practice International Network was launched by eight institutions – the Hanken School of Economics, the International Business School of Jönköpingt, the Institute of HEC Montréal, the University of Aston, the University of Lancaster, the University of Oxford, the Universitiy of St. Gallen and the University of Zurich. These founding members established Strategy as Practice International Network with the aim of building a research expertise, facilitating cross-institutional research, establishing contacts and support for doctoral students, and securing resources for workshop and other activities. Apart from the founding members other universities can apply for SAP-IN membership. Accroding to the SAP-IN governance structure there will be a national committee comprised of a representative of each member university in each respective country. This national committee will coordinate national events and will represent the SAP-In vis-à-vis national funding bodies.

Each national committee sends one representative to the international committee. The international committee coordinates international events, represents the network vis-à-vis international funding bodies and decides on new institutional members (membership is not decided upon the national committee). In addition to the national representatives there will be (ex officio) members of the SAP-IN interest groups of SMS, AoM and EGOS.
